Felipe Melo has ended his speculation with a move to Arsenal. It was known that the Brazilian would decide on his future after the Confederations Cup came to an end.
The The 25-year-old Fiorentina midfielder has extended his contract for another year. Talk with his agent had been made and a decision was placed for him to stay.
”Fiorentina announces that its sporting director Pantaleo Corvino met in Milan with Felipe Melo’s agent and an agreement was reached to extend the player’s contract until 2013 with a buy-out clause also included,”
So the question now remains, who will we buy? Honestly speaking, there’s no way we can stick with Denilson another season if we’re to battle for silverware.
We need someone solid who can do the job as a holding mid-fielder. Someone by the likes of Vieira or Flamini. Please reply and suggest who we should bring in.

Reports from sport.co.uk suggest 22 year old Stuttgart defender Serdar Tasci is a target in the summer transfer window. Arsenal who just recently signed Thomas Vermalen as one re-inforcement to the back four may look to stengthen even more with an eye out for this fairly unknown amongst many, centre back.
Arsenal are set to make a move for Stuttgart defender Serdar Tasci as Arsene Wenger looks to strengthen his back four once again. Wenger is ready to splash the cash after forking out £10m to sign Thomas Vermaelen from Ajax last week and wants more reinforcements at the back.Tasci, 22, is regarded as one of the best young defenders in Germany and has also been tracked by AC Milan and Juventus after he earned rave reviews last season which saw him force his way into the Germany side.
The Arsenal boss is believed to be a big fan of Tasci who can play in the centre of defence or at right back and the German admits he would relish the chance to play for a bigger club in Europe, saying: “I have the ambition to move clubs one day, but the time and circumstances have to be right for me.
Stuttgart are currently in talks with Tasci to extend his contract, but cannot agree a deal which leaves the door open for Arsenal to clinch his signature

The latest talks suspect Lyon striker Karim Benzema could be a signing for the Arsenal. It looks however, this will only go through if the departure of Adebayor does succeed. Meaning he will be the possible replacement.
AC Milan are once again opening interest for the Arsenal star. Wenger is known for leaving things to the last minute, but if he wants to battle a bidding war between top guns such as Real Madrid and Manchester United, he will have to snap him up quick before too much interest is shown and other “money” clubs like City and Chelsea get involved making it harder to get him safely at the Emirates.
Though saying that above, he said if he were to join a club in England, it would be Arsenal over Man United. As he would love to play under one of the best managers in the world. Times online reported this,
Arsene Wenger is ready to go head to head with Sir Alex Ferguson for the signature of Karim Benzema in the knowledge that the 21-year-old France striker would rather join Arsenal this summer than Manchester United.
So if we are to go for the young talented striker, it should be now. Why play waiting games? Lets clear of Adebayor and get someone with great quality that will produce. We are already one step ahead of every English club now he has said he would play for Arsenal.

I think it’s clear to say that the talks about signing Yaya Toure (brother of Kolo Toure) are done and dusted. It is always brought up through out every transfer period. A lot of bitter fans usually believe it will actually happen and get really excited that he may actually come play for us.
It WILL NOT happen and he has stated he will want to retire with the Spanish giants. (Read below)
“What is important is to play for a great club and Barca are the club I want to play for. I want to wear the shirt,” the official Barcelona website also report him as saying.
“I want to finish my career here, but I have to continue showing that I am up to the right level.”
As much as i would like to see him alongside his brother at Arsenal, I’m glad he has decided and that we no longer have to talk about it.

The agent himself
Arsenal’s winter window recruit and club record signing, Andrey Arshavin, has sacked the agent that helped broker the move, Dennis Lachter, as he thinks he will be better off with self-representation.
The diminutive playmaker, who showed how productive he can be during his thus far short-stay at the Gunners’ Ashburton Grove home, has often spoken out in the past about “unpleasant surprises” in his current contract, and has expressed dissatisfaction with the UK tax situation.
