Eduardo

Arsenal continued their pre-season preparations with a comprehensive victory over Hungarian top-flight side Szombathelyi Haladás at the Rohonci úti Stadion.

Nicklas Bendtner and the returning Eduardo both grabbed first half braces before substitute Robin van Persie followed suit by slotting home a penalty on 66 minutes.

The hosts won a late penalty after Maikel was brought down, the midfielder fluffed his effort wide which assured Polish ‘keeper Wojciech Szczesny of a clean sheet.

It was a comfortable workout for Arsene Wenger’s side, and he’ll be pleased with the calm finishes from three of Arsenal’s frontmen

nicklas bendtner

With interest from AC Milan, it could be a chance to cash in on Nicklas Bendtner and bring in experience. We’ve apparently already bidded for Huntelaar, which would take £17m of the £25 earned from the sale of Adebayor.

Even after a striker is purchased we would need to buy to cover other parts of the team. Like a solid tall centre back to help the back four and a DM. Should we keep Bendtner or grab the money to purchase other players.

I believe he should stay. He will definitely prove himself this season covering Emmanuel Adebayor’s position. I think he will easily score 20+ with  a lot of game time.

Is he just what we need in midfield? I don’t believe there are to many solid reports just yet but some sources tell us we are preparing a bid for Lee Cattermole

Read report below

Wigan manager Roberto Martinez has so far managed to rebuff bids of around four and five million from Sunderland, for the Latics dynamo but it is believed that Arsenal are believed to be preparing to test Martinez’s resolve, by offering up to ten million pounds for the under 21 international.

Cattermole is reported to be happy at Wigan but the lure of the Champions League may prove too tempting.

AC Milan have had sudden interest in Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner. They previously had interest in Adebayor who was sold to Manchester City.

Bendtner, who could possibly gain one the best seasons of his career this season after the departure of Ade is being targeted. This could be his one season to shine as a replacement up front.

Would it be the right choice for him to go? Do we even need him? His been criticised plenty before.

Read the report then comment below.

Getting ready for another busy night in The Transfer Tavern, when Channel 4’s Football Italia tell us, that Serie A giants AC Milan “are turning to” Nickclas Bendtner at Premier League club Arsenal, having “failed” to lure Emmanuel Adebayor or Luis Fabiano to Italy.

Football Italia saying Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani has “pledged” he will bring in a striker to the San Siro to play in coach Leonardo’s “4-4-3 system, but this has “failed to materialise” so far at the Milanese side.

It said Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko and David Trezeguet at Italian rivals Juventus “were other options”, but “newspapers in the peninsula” are suggesting Milan have cast their eye back towards the Premiership.

Apparently 21-year-old Bendtner would cost the Rossoneri in the region of “£8million” or even leave the Emirates Stadium for the San Siro “on loan”, with the Gunners striker perfect for a “new younger” Milan.

Despite Swiss International Bendtner said to fit the bill of Milan, Football Italia concludes by claiming his signing is “unlikely to calm” angry fans in Milan, who want a “star name” to arrive at the Rossoneri.

So was it water, wine, whisky or white spirit at the root of this tale? Have Milan really cast their gaze back in the direction of Arsenal in order to find a new striker? Should this rumour Fly or Die?

SOCCER Vieira_file 1

It seems Vieira is looking for first team football with Tottenham being a main target. The Arsenal legend who played for us a full 9 years could be well on his way to White Hart Lane.

You can read the report below.

Vieira earned hero status at Arsenal during his nine-year spell with the Gunners, but the France midfielder is looking for regular first-team action after falling out of favour at Inter and Redknapp believes he would gladly join his former club’s bitter rivals.

If Vieira does sign for Spurs, he would risk angering Arsenal fans who regard him as a legend, but Redknapp insisted that wouldn’t stop the 33-year-old returning to north London.

“I’m still interested in Patrick, I would like him,” Redknapp said. “What’s he done wrong? He hasn’t killed anyone, he’s just a great player who played for Arsenal.

“If he wants to come to Tottenham it shows you about his character. He’s not interested in money. He wants to come and play, he’s a fantastic player and wants to play here.”

If he does join Tottenham, will he still remain an Arsenal legend in your hearts?
