EDUARDPPPPP

After a large amount of controversy, continuous scrutiny, and an incredible amount of publicity the UEFA has accepted the appeal by Arsenal and have annulled Eduardo’s two match ban.

This is the statement from the UEFA website:

‘Not established’
Following examination of all the evidence, notably the declarations of both the referee and the referees’ assessor, as well as the various video footage, it was not established to the panel’s satisfaction that the referee had been deceived in taking his decision on the penalty.

Decision annulled
Therefore, the decision of the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body of 1 September, in which the player was suspended for two UEFA club competition matches, is annulled.

Arsenal will now be able to play Eduardo in their next two matches against Standard Leige and Wigan Athletic. This decision will certainly provide a large boost of morale for the team after their 4-2 defeat against Manchester City on Saturday. Hopefully this will get the team back on track and more determined to win than ever.

Despite many fan comments against Wenger that have recently been published on forums and message boards alike, Arsenal Fans must realize that the best thing that they can do for the team is to support him as he is a incredibly capable manger that has many problems to deal with, which have been placed upon him.

This is a great victory for Arsenal as Wengers personal judgment has payed off and rewarded the team with a well needed lift.

It is now confirmed that the Football Association will be conducting a review of Emmanuel Adebayor’s actions during the Manchester City 4-2 Arsenal Game on Saturday, September 12.

This match was very important to Manchester City as they made it very clear that they are gunning for arsenals spot the season. It was clear the Adebayor had a strong motivation to take out Arsenal and literally “stamp” them out of the running.

During the Match there were two main incidents that will be reviewed by the Football Association.

The first controversial incident was an attack on Robin Van Persie. In the second half of the match Adebayor stamped  Persie face with his cleat, leaving the left side of his face bloody.

Persie is not pleased with this incident and publicly issued the following statements after the match:

“I am sad and disappointed by my former team-mate Emmanuel Adebayor’s mindless and malicious stamp on me during today’s match.

“We are both professional footballers and I know that the game is physical, I too have made hard and sometimes mis-timed challenges but never with the intention of hurting an opponent. He set out to hurt me today.

“I knew he was aiming for a collision because he changed the angle of his body to allow contact to be made. He moved backwards when his natural momentum would have taken him forward. I find that deeply disrespectful. He has shown a real lack of class today, to me and the fans.

“I do feel lucky that I have not suffered a greater injury. The contact was only centimetres from my eye. I have not received an apology from him, there were no words exchanged afterwards. He had his own agenda today and that is bad for football. It’s bad for the game we all love.

“I want to make it clear that this has nothing to do with the result of today’s match. We do not hide from that disappointment but I need to speak out about his behaviour.”

The attack on Persie was not the end of it. Adebayor went on to score a goal for Manchester City to put them up 3-1 over Arsenal and ran straight to the Arsenal fans to taunt and celebrate his goal in front of them. These actions created quite the stir in the stands and left the Arsenal fans fighting to get on the field to show him a piece of their mind.

It was very clear that these actions by Adebayor were not condoned by the referee and he was awarded a yellow card. After the match Adebayor made a statement apologizing for his actions.

The Football Association’s Ian Watmore has stated that the FA will “take a good look” at the two incidents and hopefully Adebayor will  receive the punishment he rightfully deserves.

Andrey Arshavin Injured

Andrey Arshavin, Arsenals prized midfielder has been sidelined after aggravating a groin injury that has been bothering him since the match at Old Trafford.  The re-injury took place during Russia’s face off with Wales on Wednesday where he was played for the whole 90 minute match. This did lead to a 3-1 Victory over Wales, but certainly did not help out Arsenals already hurting lineup.

It is too early to know when Arshavin, Arsenals brilliant playmaker will be able to play again, but he has been ruled out for the next three matches where Arsenal will have to face off against Manchester City, Standard Liege, and Wigan Athletic.

“He will be out for Saturday, for Wednesday and certainly as well for Wigan.”

Arsene Wenger has also expressed his pure disappointment due to Arshavin’s injury and has made it utterly clear that Arshavin should not have been played on Wednesday against Wales.

“I took him out at Manchester United because of a groin problem. He did not play in Russia’s first game, but played last night against Wales. He should not have played and is injured.

Without a doubt this is a big blow to Arsenal as it adds to the injured list with Djourou who was recently ruled out for six to eight months. Thankfully, it is clear that Arsenal has a great pool of talented players along with an impeccable manger that will do their very their best to overcome these unwanted circumstances.
