Arsenal’s injury woes continued to grow ahead of their clash against Chelsea, as both Clichy and Gibbs were ruled out of the game against the Blues on Sunday. Again, the swollen eye of former Chelsea star, William Gallas, may keep him out of the game.
This is why it is expected that the Gunners side will be coming out with a make shift defense, as Armand Traore might take the field and Mikael Silvestre may partner Thomas Vermaelan in the middle.
Meanwhile, Chelsea has been getting better with injury news, as it was announced that Frank Lampard would take the field.
Chelsea coach, Carlos Ancelotti, said, “Frank has been training for the past two days and is fit for the Arsenal game.”
“He is in good physical condition for the game at this moment. Our physicians have worked hard on him and it seems that the result is showing up.”
There is no doubt that the odds are stack against the home side, as most of their top players are not available. However, this serves as opportunity to the young Gunners and is an opportunity to prove everyone in the league that they can come out of this predicament with excellent results.
