With injuries to five of their top players, Arsenal will go into the away game against Sunderland at the Stadium of Lights, as an underdog.
Even though they still have the likes of Arshavin, Gallas, Fabregas, Diaby, Nasri, Eduardo and Rosicky in their ranks, the current form of the Black Cats may be too hot to handle for them.
Sunderland has been in great form in their home games with striker Darren Bent scoring 8 goals in the season thus far. They have even defeated Liverpool in one of the games in the Premier League.
However, Keeper Craig Gordon is out with an injury, which he sustained against Spurs when he collided with striker Defoe. The home side may lose the edge with his absence.
Still, Sunderland’s strike power, strength in the midfield and the shaky defense of Gunners in away games may help them in creating yet another upset.
However, the good news for the Arsenal fans is that they have been on an undefeated streak in the past five games in all competitions. With Chelsea only 5 points away and the Gunners having played one game less, Manager Arsene Wenger would be looking forward to give motivation to his young guns and win against all odds.
