Arsenal-Andrey-Arshavin-2009_2341658

Arsenal opened their Emirates Cup participation with a last gasp win against Atletico, with 54, 224 in attendance.
Both goals were scored in exquisite fashion, particularly the second, by our own Russian magician Andrei Arshavin.

There was a lively buzz around the stadium before the game, building up towards a good game. Before the fixture, Rangers had beaten PSG 1-0, meaning they got 4 points due to the Cup’s rules, 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, none for a loss and a point for every goal scored.

The game started lively, Rosicky’s first touch being good one as he sprayed the ball wide to Bendtner.

Eboue broke down the right 30 seconds later, but his touch is far too heavy and Atletico intercepted. Shame, Bendtner was lurking with intent in the middle.
