This is why i will always love Thierry Henry. A man who was dedicated to Arsenal and will always remain a top legend in the books of Arsenal FC.

Up to now everyone has criticised us of being vulnerable in the league next season due to Manchester City buying like there’s no tomorrow. Former Arsenal striker Thierry spoke out stating that we can still shock the fans and win/compete for the title. Read below.

At least someone who isn’t a biased wanker has been loyal and knows we are ALWAYS in with a chance!

Thierry Henry has told Arsenal fans that their dream of regaining the Premier League title can still come true this season.

The Gunners’ record scorer is back in England with European champions Barcelona for the Wembley Cup tournament, which sees them take on Spurs tomorrow night.

The Frenchman knows his mentor Arsene Wenger has little cash to spend despite the £25million sale of Emmanuel Adebayor to Manchester City. And with Samir Nasri already ruled out for six weeks, fans are not predicting a prompt return to glory.

But Henry insisted: “It’s not going to be easy without Adebayor, obviously, and what happened with Nasri was unlucky, but I still believe they can win the League.

“That is always my feeling about my old club. It won’t be easy because there are teams who are doing it every time, but you never know.

“I remember when I left everyone was saying it wouldn’t be the same, but they ended up having a great season and nearly won the League.

“It can happen this year. I know everybody is saying this and that but in my heart I will always talk like that.”

Gunners fans also know that even hanging onto fourth spot is likely to be tougher this term, especially as ambitious City have also bought Carlos Tevez and Gareth Barry.

But Henry insisted: “Arsene and Arsenal have proven so many times they can win without spending a lot of money. People talk about the top four but the only thing that matters to me is who is going to be top and I know that’s how Arsene sees it as well.”

Wenger, meanwhile, has eased concerns over Eduardo’s ankle by confirming the Arsenal striker is in line to make his pre-season bow in the next match at Szombathelyi Haladas.

“Eduardo should play on Monday,” Wenger said after Arsenal’s 7-1 pre-season friendly success over SC Columbia on Tuesday.

* The Wembley Cup tournament also features Celtic and Egyptian champions Al Ahly. Tickets from www.thewembleycup.com or Wembley Box Office.

A record 6,900 attended the game at Schwarzlackenau Stadium and it was the home fans who were singing first. Patrick Lehner capitalised on an unfortunate Manuel Almunia error, guiding the ball past Arsenal’s no.1.

Nicklas Bendtner hit back within 45 seconds. The Danish hitman scored from close range after a defensive mistake was exploited by Abou Diaby.

Highly-rated Aaron Ramsey then struck a terrific shot before Bendtner bagged his second just minutes before half time.

After a whole host of changes were made by Arsene Wenger it took a while for the Gunners’ to settle. When they did, Robin van Persie slotted home a penalty and headed in a Sagna cross to make it five.

It was William Gallas who got in the act next with a deft header, then Aaron Ramsey secured his brace thanks to a bullet strike past Markus Lipovski.

samir-nasri-injury

Time and time again the news gets worse on injuries for Arsenal. Samir Nasri suffers a fractured right fibula. Reports have come from the official site. He is set to be out for a possible 12 weeks.

A big blow for the gunners. It was best it happened now rather then later as Wenger has a chance to put it right and add additions if need be in the transfer market.

Samir Nasri has sustained a fractured fibula during this morning’s training session at the Club’s pre-season training camp in Austria.

The midfielder will be out of action for two to three months. Everyone at the Club wishes Samir a speedy recovery.

Steve Bould took an Arsenal Reserves and Youth XI to Lincolnshire this evening as the Gunners faced Lincoln City for the first time in 118 years. A 4,508 strong crowd was in attendance with a firm mixture of both Gooners and Imps. However, a car accident on the A46 motorway hampered travelling supporters.

On the pitch, seven regular members of Arsenal’s League and Cup winning Under 18’s started, while there a flavour of experience in the form of Nacer Barazite and Jay Simpson. Newly signed Sean McDermott was handed a debut, whilst there was three of the 09/10 scholars on the bench.

I strongly dis-agree with all the bullshit these guys are saying, but i thought I would post the video up anyway. Many are saying Arsenal will be vulnerable now City are buying and buying like it’s nothing.

Personally i believe City will flop and just about make a top 7 finish. Buying players isn’t everything. A rubbish manager like Hughes will not push them further, and 5+ “good” strikers will all want first team football. (I wonder how that will work out in the end)

On top of that, they’ve a rubbish defence.

Then again this is just personal opinion. Tell us what you feel on the matter.

Solid reports from Sports.co.uk are reporting that a deal for Chamakh will be completed within 24 hours. The same people who also said the same about Thomas Vermaelen and it happened.

The 25 year old Moroccan has been targeted from day one as a replacement for Adebayor. Now that Adebayor is more then likely to go to Manchester City (£25m), Marouane Chamakh will be brought in.

Sport.co.uk understands that Arsenal are in the final stages of completing a move for Bordeaux hitman Marouane Chamakh. According to a source close to the club the Gunners have agreed a fee with their French counterparts and are on the verge of concluding personal terms with the player.

Chamakh will replace Togo forward Emmanuel Adebayor who is expected to complete a £25 million move to Manchester City in the next 24 hours.

Frenchman Wenger has been linked with a move for the 25-year-old Moroccan since January but appears to have moved quickly now that the necessary finances have been freed up. Courted around the continent, Chamakh saw his star rise across Europe having netted 14 times for Laurent Blanc’s Ligue 1 championship winning side.

Chamakh admitted recently: “I want to play in the Premier League and a club like Arsenal would be a dream. If they were to come calling, I would certainly give them a positive answer.”

The Morocco international has scored 53 goals in almost 200 matches for Bordeaux since joining the club seven years ago, and Sport.co.uk expect the deal to be competed in the next coming days.

Reports from Metro.co.uk state that the deal could indeed be in doubt. The Togo International has received a work permit but refused in taking a medical.

It also seems that Man City haven’t agreed the wages Adebayor demands.

Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor’s expected £25million move to Manchester City could yet fall through.

The Togo international received a work permit yesterday but has turned down the chance to undergo a medical, reports today’s Evening Standard.

Manchester City are reportedley refusing to meet Adebayor’s wage demands of £170,000 a week – with the player arguing he should become the highest-paid player in the league as compensation for joining a club that does not have

Will this make the fans hate him even more if he stays?
