Wasn’t it just a couple days after the Confederations cup final that Melo extended his contract as his current club (Fiorentina). Once again Arsenal are supposingly in talks with the Brazilian about signing him and bringing the midfielder to the Emirates.
It is known that Eboue could be part of the exchange with a €25m euros payment also being part of the transfer.
“The director [Corvino] points out that Arsenal FC are the only club that has come close to [Felipe Melo’s] release clause.
“Fiorentina, in turn, has proposed that the clubs reduce the amount of this clause by entering into negotiations the right back Eboue.”
On the rumours of an alleged agreement between Felipe Melo’s agents and Juventus, Fiorentina did not deny that those two parties may have reached an accord.
“In the event that the player has already agreed terms with another club, the buy-out clause the player has with his club to the value of €25 million does not take into consideration any technical exchanges (player exchanges), unless Fiorentina is in agreement
In all fairness Eboue was unhappy and previously suggested a switch. So this can work out for good for everyone. Although i wouldn’t mind Eboue staying at the club as a cover, you have to do what you have to do to compete in the league.

It’s only fair Eboue gets first team football like he wants. I would love to see him stay also but shit happens and we need to move on and win silverware.
Sign Melo, get a good striker and i’ll be happy.
